Spinelli srl deals with container transport, mainly by truck, with 600 owned vehicles, 200,000 journeys made and 42 million km traveled each year.
Since 2015 it has started to modernise all the vehicles to Euro 5 and Euro 6. The company has been active in the transport of goods by rail since the 1980s, when it acquired some major operational bases in Northern Italy.
Today Spinelli intermodal centers are in Reggio Emilia (Dinazzano) and Milan (Arluno). From these centers, as well as from Padua, every year about 3,500 freight trains are handled to the most important Italian ports: Genoa, Livorno and La Spezia, where there are other owned intermodal facilities.
The Spinelli GPT Genoa Port Terminal division, established at the end of the 1990s, offers loading and unloading services for containers, Ro-Ro ships and various merchandise.
The business unit is a terminal operator in the area of the port of Genoa Sampierdarena, on 150,000 square meters it handles more than 580,000 Teus per year. It is located in the docks of Ponte Idroscalo, Calata Inglese, Ponte Etiopia and Calata Massaua.
The terminal can accommodate container ships as well as RoRo and it operates with a total of 149 people, 10 cranes, 86 forklifts and 25 harbor cables.
Among its customers of shipping companies there are: Tirrenia, Cotunav, and Borchard Lines. Over the years it has increased the traffic volumes of ships and containers, and has been able to acquire other important shipping lines with customers such as Cma-Cgm, Hapag Lloyd, Zim, Cosco, Marfret, Seago, Boluda, DAL, Hamburg Sud.
Thanks to the investments made, the service offered by the terminal has improved and today it offers a complete range of handling, storage, container filling and emptying services, weighing and lashing of special loads and to dedicate increasing attention and efficiency in intermodal services.
Terminal Rinfuse Genova, located in the heart of the Port is the access gate for bulk products and more, passing through and from Northern Italy. The core business is the supply of port operations for disembarking, boarding, storage and reloading on motor vehicles, both boxed and cistern. The terminal operates in an area of over 130,000 square meters, has 3 docks and a covered warehouse of over 9,500 square meters and covered tanks for bulk cargo of over 7,500 square meters. The bulk products are: coal, thawing salt, silica sand, cement and in the recent years other types of bulk goods including agri-food products, fertilizers, various kinds of minerals, steel products, project cargo and others.
The Service Center deals with the management of warehouses of goods and is active in the port of Genoa. It carries out customs operations, trans-shipment and storage of domestic and foreign goods. The highly specialized personnel, with specific equipment and means, guarantee the handling of full and empty containers, as well as any other type of goods, including packaging and palletizing of loads that can be transported, by road / rail in the national territory and abroad.
Distripark operates in an area of 45,000 square meters adjacent to the port of Prà-Voltri, it is intended mainly for the management of consolidation and lashing operations of machinery and over-the-counter cash registers, exceptional transport, container filling and emptying, and various national and foreign merchandise warehouses.
The company based in the port of Salerno is one of the main port hubs of southern Italy. Over the years has become a reference point thanks to its reliability and efficiency. Salerno Container Terminal SCT carries out boarding and disembarkation services for both container ships and RoRo on an area of over 110,000 square meters, as well as container storage, IMO and reefer storage.
